hummingbird.. and kitties!
02:30
Hi guys! So after talking to the lovely and ever-supportive Kate, I decided to list some beads on eBay again. EEK! I haven't sold beads on eBay in aaaaaaaaaages (since they upped their fees for having a shop) and I'm a bit nervous as I've put the gorgeous Hummingbird Garden Focal (seen above) up on the block! All the listings start at just 99p. Keep your fingers crossed for me, please! Pop on over and have a look :)
My lovely friend, Laura, is organising a charity event for a little boy who desperately needs our help. As soon as she mentioned wanting artists to donate to the cause I was in! I asked her to let me know what kind of things she was after and she mentioned one of her friends likes cats. So I decided to make a cat focal. Then I just couldn't stop!! I made TWENTY cat focals in two days!! The above pic is from day 1. From left: Dune, Vixen, Summer, Melba and Princess Bast. Bottom row: Violet, Marina, Baby Rose, Jitterbug and Lilac. What do you think? Click on their names to be taken to their eBay auction or Etsy page!
This is day 2 of the great kitty focal project. Top from left: Luna, River, Skyleigh, Edgar and Azure. Bottom row: Fifi, Sandy, Leilani, Sweetpea and Capone. I went a bit more nutso on day 2 and made some pretty silly kitties. I had SO much fun! I have already received quite a few orders for kitties (Edgar the Zombie Kitty is proving quite popular!) and I'm open for more orders. Want one of these kitties? Want a custom kitty? How about a kitty that looks like your pet? Just email me at keiara@bykeiara.co.uk and I'll be happy to help :)I hope you all have a great week! I'm off to make more kitty focals!! :)

06:33
Hi everyone!!
I've been tagged by the lovely Helen over at Blue Fairy Designs to fill out this Eight Things survey. I think this is a wonderful way for all us crafty types to get to know each other better and help promote each other as well. Let's keep it going!
The rules are:
1. Mention the name of the person who tagged you.
2. Do the lists of 8.
3. Tag 8 bloggers of your choice.
4. Let them know that they have been tagged!
Here we go :)

3. Angel - Ok, now I'm looking like a liar.. cause I've seen all of those as well!
4. Charmed - I'm detecting a pattern here....
5. Moonlight - I don't care what anyone says, I LOVED this show. (Notice how they're all cancelled shows?!)
6. Dexter - I really liked this one at first.. now it's a bit meh.

new Summer Garden series!
09:21
Hi everyone! Recently I've been pretty busy with custom orders so I haven't had tons of time to work on new ideas. I decided that last week I was going to set aside some time to explore new things and I came up with my new Summer Garden series! I was sitting in front of my torch thinking about how much I love England in summer. It's a veritable explosion of colour in the summer and cottage gardens are so charming and welcoming. I wondered if I could capture that feeling in a bead. With that thought in mind, Daffodil Garden was born. I started with a bright summer's day for the base and then added flowers and ladybugs til my heart was content. I'll definitely be re-visiting the daffodils again this week!
Next up was Calla Lily & Wisteria Garden. The calla lillies were a bit of a learning curve but I think they came out quite nice. I added a couple of pink roses and ladybugs for good measure. I like the different colours in this focal and I already have another wisteria bead planned!
Finally I had to try some strawberries! I wasn't sure what to pair with them and went with sunflowers in the end. Sunflower & Strawberry Garden was a bit more difficult to create than the others as a lot of the detail in this one is quite tiny. I'm happy with the overall results though :) I'm thinking more strawberries will be appearing soon too! So what do you think of this new series? Each bead, as with my tree focals, is signed with a small heart on the back. To make them even more special I added a tiny bluebird on the back as well. A little friend to make you smile :) Any suggestions for other flowers you'd like to see in this series? Coming up next week will be lillies, freesia, irises and pansies. I'd love to hear what you think!
Hope you're all having a wonderful bank holiday weekend!

piggies galore!
08:43
Hi guys! Long time no update. Sorry about that! I've been working on several large custom orders. I had a few orders from the lovely Michelle again. This time it was pigs! Pictured above are (from back) Tamworth Pigs, Flying Pigs, Gloucester Old Spot Pigs and Piggies & Gentlepigs (haha). Aren't they cute? I had a lot of fun making these little guys. I think we're doing another round of cupcake sets next week. Yay for cupcakes!Kaia will be here soon.. just a couple of weeks. I'm SO excited :) Every time I see her, I swear it seems as though she's grown another foot. She's not exactly my little girl anymore! She'll be here for 2 months so I'm trying to think of interesting things to do. I definitely want to visit the Rare Breeds Centre again. Ooh and hopefully the Kent County Show will be on sometime during her stay. Anyone else have interesting plans for the summer? I'd like to take Kaia to Paris at some point.. I did promise..!
Any suggestions on fun stuff to do with a 13 year old? I'm listening ;)
Hope you're all having a wonderful week!

death by... cupcakes?!
06:20
Happy Friday everyone!! I've been super busy this week working on custom orders. Above is a shot of *some* of the custom cupcakes I created this week for my lovely friend Michelle. I made so many cupcakes I thought I would die from sugar shock! ;) I made cupcakes in rainbow colours, pink cupcakes, cupcakes with ladybugs on top, cupcakes with crowns (my favourites!) and assorted cupcake earring pairs. I had tons of fun making them but it will be nice to have a little break next week from cupcake making.. lol :)
I also made a couple of sets of my farmyard animals including my new roosters! The pig, puppy and cow all have little bows on their tails too :D I love animal beads but have yet to make myself any! I really should get around to doing that... someday!
This is my favourite set of cupcakes from the custom order. Purple Princess Cupcakes. Aren't they sweet?! They're tricky to make with those teeny goldstone crowns but sooooooooo worth it in the end. I used some of my favourite purple glasses for these and I really like the overall look of them. Another set I must make for myself when I have some spare time! Did everyone have a nice St. George's Day? I made bangers & mash cause I'm so British.. heehee :) I also made this fab chocolate brownie dessert that my mother made for our Easter party in Florida. Brownies, chocolate pudding (like thick custard) topped with whipped cream and chopped chocolate toffee bars (called Heath bars in America.. they are totally YUM!). It was so yummy but I definitely should have divided it into, say, EIGHT servings instead of two.. haha. Steve ate all of his but mine went back into the refrigerator after a few bites. (I might have just had a few more bites with lunch though!) Next year I shall plan better and make a red & white meal/dessert. I'm not used to celebrating this holiday!
Any plans for the weekend? I plan to be lazy and kill some zombies on Left4Dead. I think we might be going out for dinner tomorrow as it's the 4 year anniversary of our first phone call. Haha.. yeah, I'm sad. But I enjoy it! When you're in a long distance relationship that began online these things become the equivalent of your first date! Ok, I'm going to stop talking now because now you think I'm crazy.. well, crazier.
Have a great weekend!

I'm baaaaaack!
14:18
My best friend, Emi, came to visit with her family and that was fantastic. I've missed her so much and it was great to be able to sit around and chat like old times. Her new son, Ethan, is so cute! He seemed to take a liking to me right away and gurgled happily whenever he saw me :D
Mom made tons of wonderful food as always and I tried very hard not to make a pig of myself. Easier said than done in that house! We went shopping and went to all my favourite restaurants. I read the entire Twilight series (which was ok but not great) and spent time with my old friend Marc.. whom I've known for half my life. Ooh I also got to meet Leah's boyfriend/fiance, Eric, who is a really nice guy. (Doubly nice for putting up with Leah.. haha).
All in all it was a great trip. Now that I've returned I'm already up to my eyeballs in custom orders!! If you have something you've been yearning to order, please feel free to contact me. I'm setting aside the next two weeks for mostly custom orders :) Hey, I gotta keep you people happy!
I'm also running a 15% off sale on select items in my Etsy shop. Have a look and grab a bargain! I listed new trees and bird pairs today too. Lots of prettiness for spring awaits!
In other news, my sister-in-law, Zan, had a baby girl today!!!!!! YAY!!!!!! I'm so excited :) Zan is the girl responsible for my awesome bright red hair :D She owns her own salon and never lets me down. I always walk outta there feelin' great! She hasn't chosen a name for the baby but I'm pulling for Lola. She has a 2 year old son named Logan and I think Logan and Lola sound precious together! Plus it's just a kick ass name ;)
Ok, I'm off to kill zombies. Hope you all have a great week!
Love,
keiara
