Wednesday already?

Hi everyone!

Ok, so I can't be the only one who's saying, "Wait a second, it's WEDNESDAY already?!" Work with me, people. The days are going by soooooo fast. Yesterday I was quite ill (reaction to antibiotics, apparently.. booooo) so today I have to play a bit of catch up. Anyway! I've had quite a few orders for my Twilight Tree Focal lately and the above picture are three that I made the other day at Naomi's. I really like this design. The base bead is actually a really deep purple and the moon is on the back, too. What do you think?

Here is Issy the Little Lady Kooky Owl! I like the nice, bright lime green against the black and white. This little lady is hopefully flying off to a lovely lady's house as a gift for a friend. I hope she likes her!

And, yeah, I couldn't resist doing a zombie owl!! He's missing an eye as well as a couple of toes, too ;) I'm so obsessed with zombies and making zombie beads is SO much fun! They've been pretty popular, too.. heehee. Any of my other animals you'd like to see zombiefied? Hamsters? Piggies? Cows?? OHHH so many ideas!!

Any plans for the rest of the week? I'm hoping to get back over to Naomi's as I have a few orders to do and I miss making beads :( I might go ahead and try to just take the tables apart to get them upstairs. It isn't the size that's the problem, it's the weight. I have serious back issues and getting something that heavy up a flight of stairs is realllllllllllly a bad idea for me :( But anyway! Hopefully I'll get this all sorted out soon and be back to the torch everyday. OMG, wouldn't that be great?!? *wistful sigh*

Have a wonderful week, everyone! I'm adding lots of beads to my by keiara Etsy shop so if you haven't looked for a few days, it's worth a peek!

Love,
keiara

Hello Monday!

Hi everyone!

Wow, life has been such a roller coaster these past few months and my blogging (and bead making time) has really suffered. I'm trying very hard to get back into the swing of things now. This morning the tables arrived for my studio (which are so heavy I cannot possibly get them upstairs by myself - EEEK!) so I'm hoping against hope that I can talk Naomi and her hubby into helping me set up the studio.. which I haven't asked her about and am now announcing on my blog. NO PRESSURE, GNOMIE BABY! Heehee ;)

Since I don't have everything up and running just yet, I'll be listing beads solely on Etsy for the next couple of weeks. Hopefully I'll have everything back to normal by mid-July-ish. Who knew it would take this long?! So! I have plenty of new beads including the Touch of Gold Tree Focal pictured above. I'm so in love with this bead. I am totally NOT a gold girl (won't wear the stuff) but there's something about the way it looks in a bead that really catches my eye.

I also have a few of my mega floral cupcakes in my by keiara Etsy shop as well as a cute little pair of cupcakes, too!

And, of course, I've added a bunch of my kooky kritters! This is my Pretty in Pink Kooky Bears set and I love their little faces! There is also a matching focal and a matching earring pair! The kritters are all SO much fun to make :) I have kittens, owls, hamsters.. even zombie bears!

I'm off to photograph the beads I made in Naomi's studio last week. I hope you all have a wonderful week and spread some smiles and love to those around you!

new beads on Etsy!

Hi everyone!

My studio is STILL not set up. I may cry! I'm waiting on a delivery of tables to set my torch up on but I haven't heard from the company for two weeks now.. so it's time to phone up and get mean!!!

Anyway :) Since I'm still not able to create custom orders at this time, I've listed a bunch of beads I've already made in my by keiara Etsy shop. I hope you'll pop over there and have a look!

I hope you're all having a wonderful week!

back in the saddle

Hi guys!

I always love going home to Florida for a visit. I get to see my family, my friends and have great Mexican food (hey, priorities!). The only downside is coming home. The jetlag is AWFUL and getting back to work, although I miss it so much while I'm away, is difficult.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who made my Sunday Sale a smashing success. I love you all! Now I'm back and ready to take custom orders again. At least for now! You see, I'm moving soon. Life changes and all. So if there's something you'd like to order, please get in touch this week or next as I'll probably be shutting down my shops again for a couple weeks to get everything in order. I know, I know.. I only just returned but life is a bit nuts at the moment!

Thanks again for all your support, all your wonderful emails, all your love. You guys are the best!

Have a great week :)

new kooky kritters!

Hi everyone!

Happy Monday :) Hope you had a nice weekend. On Friday I had a fun experiment day and above are the results! I created plenty of new characters to join my kooky kritters family (I've added some new ones to my lampwork website shop too!) including puppies, bunnies, hamsters, guppy fish, a cow, a chick and a vampire squid!

Here are the guppies from the front. They have the sweetest little smiling faces :) The little blue fish, Fido, is in my lampwork Etsy shop right now!

And the bunny trio is just in time for Easter: Dotty, Trixie and Daisy.

I had a request for more hamsters.. and here they are! This is Muffin and Pumpkin. Expect more hammies soon :)

Last, but not least, the terribly scary VAMPIRE SQUID!! Are you scared? A little? Not even a tremble? Wellll.. ok, he's probably cuter than he is scary ;) I adore squid, cuttlefish and octopuses (brief aside: I distinctly remember being taught the plural was 'octopi'.. which led me to this.. where I could spend ALL DAY!)

Off to light the torch and get to work on some orders. Tomorrow is new dreads day so I have to make up for taking the day off tomorrow!! :)

Have a wonderful week!

Love,
keiara

micro owl madness!!

Hi everyone!

Happy Friday :) Any plans for the weekend? I have to go into town and pick up more Directions hair dye as I'm getting new dreads put in on Tuesday.. YAY! I haven't decided what colours I'm doing yet though. I should probably make up my mind!

I'm having so much fun creating these micro owls. The pictures really don't show just how teeny they are either. They are SO SMALL! I love miniature anything, really, and beads are no exception. The picture above shows them in pairs. From left: Horace, Skippy, Disco, Fifi and Domino. They make me giggle :) I have a few more new kooky owls and a micro pair in my lampwork Etsy shop! Have a peek ;)

And here they are in my hand to kind of give you an idea of size. They average about 11-12mm tall! If you know me, you know I usually make big beads so it's always fun to give that a break for awhile and make micro beads. I have sooooo many plans for this new kooky kritters line! Any suggestions on animals you'd like to see kookified? Yes, it's a word.. cause I said so. I have a whole day free on the torch today so it's experiment time :) I LOVE experiment days!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Love,
keiara
